If you’re kicking off a new business venture or even rolling out a new service or product for an existing business, you may find yourself needing to create a landing page or a basic website. The good news is that using Elementor and WordPress is a simple, pain-free solution. Let’s walk through it step-by-step.
What You’ll Need
Before you get started, you’ll need to ensure you have an existing WordPress website or can set one up using a web hosting provider. Once it’s installed and you’re able to login, we can dive in.
Step 1) Setting Up Elementor Theme
Running Elementor will require you to select an appropriate WordPress theme. We recommend using Hello Elementor. Navigate to the Appearance > Themes page of your WordPress dashboard, then use the search bar to access the theme. Click Install, then Activate.
Although Elementor is a drag-and-drop page builder, it’s important not to skip this step. Not all WordPress themes are compatible with the Elementor plugin.
Step 2) Installing Elementor Plugin
Once you’ve completed Step 1, navigate to the Plugins > Add New page of your WordPress dashboard. Search for “Elementor Website Builder” – just like in Step 1, you’ll need to click Install, and then Activate.
Step 3) Select A Template or Start Building
If you’d like a head start on your design work, you can visit https://elementor.com/library/ for access to pre-built starter templates for Elementor, but if you’re going custom from the ground up, all you need to do is head to the Pages section of your WordPress dashboard. From there, create a new page for your homepage (labelled as Front Page within WordPress) and the Elementor plugin will be waiting for you to drag and drop different layout elements into place.
Step 4) Publish Your New Site!
When you’re happy with your finished designs, set your WordPress pages to Publish, and you’re done!
