Situation
The Shop & Hop campaign wanted to increase awareness of the event, promote participating local businesses in Lyndhurst, Delta, Elgin and Seeley’s Bay, and encourage community members to visit and shop in-store during the Shop & Hop weekend, November 28-30.
Strategy
JBC implemented a structured 30-day social media content plan across Facebook and Instagram, focusing on consistent storytelling and promotion of both the event and participating businesses. In the month leading up to the campaign, JBC visited each of the 20 participating businesses to capture short-form video and photography, while also providing basic social media skills training to support organic sharing and engagement. The campaign featured 20 business spotlights (each including a reel and a photo post), along with three general promotional reels and supporting event graphics. Content was scheduled and published regularly to maintain momentum and visibility, while participating businesses were encouraged to share posts to extend reach and engagement organically within the community.
Result
The campaign delivered strong performance over the 30-day period, generating 446,302 total impressions across Facebook and Instagram and reaching 314,098 users on Facebook alone. This sustained content approach significantly increased awareness of the Shop & Hop event and amplified visibility for participating local businesses, helping drive broad community engagement within a short promotional window.
